A short while ago i posted about supporting the creative community and i have since decided, purchased and received these adorable Little Dunce prints from The Black Apple. I am in love with them! i am tempted to also buy these and how did i miss this? i need to make some sales so i can go shopping. i also need more wall space and frames and little A needs his own room!
We’re doing more of this sunny splashy thing; i really wish i had zoomed in on this first shot. I love little B in the background naked and headed for the shore, arms up and taking it all in. Little A eventually followed suit after some puddle diving and he remained barefoot and in undies for most of the rest of the day.
MamaAnna we will have so many more days like this!
i’m not usually big on birthday attention but it was just so nice and welcome this year. Being a mom has put me more in the spirit of celebrating and i’m doing pretty good with the receiving too. i was spoiled with so many wishes, favorite chocolate treats, gerbers(thank you my Okanagan gals!), gifts, surprises and dinner.
Thank you thank you everyone!! it was a gorgeous sunny morning on the beach with Kathe&Shore. Little A and i ate berries and chocolate mousse. In the afternoon he gathered me a buttercup bouquet with his papa and baked me a pine cone chocolate cake. Sandra came to play and babysit while Alistair wined and dined me. Delicious day and night. Thank you!
i know i know 2 posts in 1 day. This is what i do while monkey is napping.
i was contacted recently by the lovely Ana to make a trade. She received her scarf and has posted some photos here. AND today (on my birthday!) i received some fun prints and postcards of her beautiful paper dolls. The bookmarks were immediately claimed by an ecstatic mail lover which he promptly hid in his books. i will have a better look at the others eventually and after much reading to find them.
Thank you Ana! Frames are on the “to get” list.
This crown is a keeper;
and if little A could have it his way he’d keep them all for various persona. Not today sweetbean. There are crowns and dresses, scarves and felt balls to fill the shop;
Can you remember the small discoveries you made as a child? such as how the lights at night passing by from your car window view can stretch and look like fireworks when you squint your eyes just so? or how about when you rub your palms on various textures and then hold them up to feel the lingering tingling sensation? i watch as little A experiments and makes these discoveries and i’m flooded with memories and excitement for him and for me and for life’s simple pleasures. i am grateful to watch him be delighted. i remember my own mama sending me outside with pen and paper to write down every sound i could hear and i think soon, my little bean may be sitting quietly, taking note of every sound around him as far as a ships horn and as near as earth noise, the soil breathing and the long grass conversing with the wind.
I’m off to yoga with Thara this morning and later we swim. oooh and Kits pool has opened already!! Summer is really here.
i am celebrating several things today;
First of all it is my dear friend Tasha’s birthday and i’ve been sending love love love her way all day. In fact i’m eating Stoneyfield Farm’s organic after dark chocolate ice cream right now as i write and it’s delicious.
Next thing to celebrate is my first Etsy sale. Woowee! This will soon be on it’s way to New York. Thank you Kerry. More shop updates coming soon.
i am also thrilled to have received a notice in the mail this morning in regards to Canada’s child tax benefits and BC family bonus. Yes i finally filed my 2005 taxes!! and i have received back pay!
i’m off to see Bjork this evening as a prebirthday gift from my sistah! Looking forward to finally see and hear her live - outside at that.
Oh and Bernina is in fact sewing quite well. It seems that little hands were experimenting with the tension dial and i think i’ve got it all sorted out now.

and i was just getting going with the assembly line of cut things. This ol’ gal is hanging around from the 70’s and i just love her. i am definitely not ready to embrace all the gadgets on a newer machine so come on keep smokin’ Bernina…i think you can i think you can…
All day i kept washing dishes, doing laundry and other cleaning things in attempt to relieve my scattered mind. Alas, i am persistently scattered with so many thoughts, ideas and to do’s which i will spare you the listing. Instead of sleep i am here puttering with this and this and even this! What can i say? The high school gang is all there and it’s fun to see everyone years later and of course to show off my beansprout. Oh by the way, here he is on his eager way to get to the puppet show;
Tomorrow i will be saved from my busy brain and the distraction of cleaning as we brave what weather may come and venture to more of the festival.

Following her example i am making decisions on a purchase to support the creative community…so many fantastic handmade things to love out there. i will be updating my own new Little Red Caboose Shop in a week or so after the items have been photographed.
