heading out on neighborhood rounds – Little A is slightly bummed that i can’t always pull the 2 of them together in the wagon but he‘s also discovering that being bigger and pulling the wagon to give the littler one rides has it’s advantages too;
the littler one is experimenting with every surface – sidewalk, trees, house, mommy, planters…but they both get equally chalk covered. i stick a big s/s bowl of bubble water on the porch for them to “play” in before they come back into the house;
April is the time of mixed weather. On this particular morning we sat baking on the back porch in our short sleeves. By noon, hailstones the size of chestnuts drummed upon our rooftop followed by heavy rains filling the gutters to overcast to sun. We kept with the plan to go fishing and the forest was a good place to spend the afternoon;

working on a Milo for the wee creature below to grow into one day;
wee creature Astrid & Leanne;
Ocean side rain or shine is always a good thing. It poured rain and the littlest one insisted that we go out to play. We had the beach to ourselves which is my favorite and there was the faintest of rainbows reaching from Kitsilano over the waters to West Van (unfortunately it didn’t show in any of the photos). Little M never noticed it and i didn’t point it out as he was busy with other noticings but i watched it fade and brighten as the clouds, sun and rain all shifted;
soaking up the little loves;
looking forward to more sunny days outside…..
kcwc Spring 2012 – day 4
i think you’ll agree that there’s nothing wrong with small and easy middle of the night projects. i recently picked up some small scrap pieces of flannel ticking just right for these big bibs that i’ve been wanting to make for Little M. The pattern is based on one that was gifted to us just before his birth and i’ve added a pocket embellished with linen trim and fun patches.
2 birds with 1 stone – this bib along with the baby waffle blanket are just a sneak peek of what i’m working on for Umbrella Prints 2012 trimmings competition.
AaBbCc and “cute as a button” cotton trims were gifted to me awhile back waiting for the perfect project;
more pants tomorrow i hope….
Grey, checks, herringbone and elephants. awww. These are based on the Quick Change Trouser pattern but non reversible and more lightweight for those especially warm Spring days. i’ll have an extra 12mos size in the shop next week.
and some not so subtle Echino airplane lounge pants;
i love Elsie’s clothes week challenges to set me in the mode of completing half finished projects. I finally resized Little M’s copter cords to match his big brother’s pair and he is so happy to wear them – it’s pretty sweet and satisfying. I also finished off some other sizes that have been in the works….photos and update to come next week!? With Little Astrid in mind i made up some summer kerchiefs. These have been done for awhile but needed photographing. I’ve gotta say that i rather love my babe in pink.
After my last post about sibling rivalry i have to say that we had a fantastic Saturday. The boys were having so much fun playing together in the morning hours that i was able to tackle some serious layers of dust in the studio. I don’t know about you but when i clean and tidy, the state of things looks a lot more of a mess than to start with. I could probably spend a week in there to get it feeling right for me but it was a beautiful day, Sandra was on her way and i didn’t want to push my luck with the happy moods so we followed through with yesterday’s intention of heading out to see the Jericho bunnies with clover and dandelion greens in hand.
i love Jericho, that it’s so near, easy and offers a diversity of nature to explore;
maybe next time we’ll search for frogs. we know they’re there…
Also, Happy Earth Day!
